Hi Friends,
It’s been a few hectic but good months since we last chatted, and I’ve got some exciting updates to share. Life has been busy, but in the best way possible—filled with creative projects, new opportunities, and a few surprises along the way. Let’s dive in!🚀
My Journey Towards Financial Freedom💸
Custom Content for Getty Images: The Results Are In!🎥
Remember when I mentioned shooting Custom Content (CC) for Getty Images as one of my income streams? Well, from October to December, I went all in. Despite working full-time, I shot as many CCs as I could, and the results might surprise you.🎬
Here’s the breakdown:
- Total Shoots: 5 custom content briefs completed.
- Selected Clips: 40 images and clips were chosen by clients (BLACKROCK, Haleon UK, Asahi and Momax!).
- Earnings: Around $4000 in payments, plus the potential for ongoing royalties.💰
The best part? One of the art directors reached out with a seed fund offer for two of the projects. This means I get paid upfront to shoot the content, no strings attached. It’s a game-changer and a testament to the power of consistency and quality. If you’re curious about how to get started with stock footage or custom content, let me know—I’d be happy to share more tips!🙌
YouTube: When Old Videos Come to Life🎥✨
Over the holiday season, something unexpected happened. One of my older videos—a simple tutorial on fixing a fog machine with vinegar—blew up. It gained over 30K views and helped thousands of fog machine lovers breathe new life into their dusty devices. 🔧
Why did this happen? Simple: timing. Everyone pulled out their old fog machines for the holidays, only to find them clogged. Instead of buying new ones, they turned to YouTube for a fix. The comments section is filled with gratitude, and it’s a reminder that sometimes, the most straightforward content can have the biggest impact.
This video also gave my channel a nice boost in views and engagement. It’s a great example of how evergreen content can pay off in the long run. If you’ve got a niche skill or fix-it trick, don’t underestimate its potential!
Let’s Talk Sponsorships: My First Big Win
I’m thrilled to share that I landed my first worthwhile sponsorship deal! I’ve received plenty of random offers in the past, but none felt right—until now. The offer came from Dehancer Pro, a plug-in I’ve used and loved for years. If you’re into cinematic looks, this tool is a game-changer. It gets you 90% of the way there; the rest is all about lighting.💡
Here’s the deal I was offered:
- 1-month free trial for a YouTube review (honest, good or bad).
- A free license after the trial.
- 10% commission on any new purchases using my promo code “DRRAVE” (and buyers get 10% off too!).
You can watch my review here.
For me, this is a big step forward. I believe the key to successful sponsorships is being picky and honest. I only review products I’ve used and genuinely believe in. It’s not just about the money—it’s about maintaining trust with all of you. If you’ve got questions about how to approach sponsorships, feel free to reach out!
